eTrace and GreenPalm provide reliable and effective platforms for the tracking of certified physical palm oil and the trading of certificates respectively. To ensure that certified palm oil is traded with a sustainability claim only once (either as physical or as certificates) a manual reconciliation is done. As of January 2015, the two systems will be connected to make this process more efficient and to ensure the volumes of certified oil are tracked real time – whether traded physically or as certificates.
The certified volume in eTrace can then either be delivered and entered in eTrace as physical palm oil or it can be allocated into certificates which can then be traded in GreenPalm. In this way the members will have a precise overview of their certified volumes and certificates that they can trade with an RSPO sustainability claim.
The connection of eTrace and GreenPalm will increase the transparency along the supply chain even more and will further contribute to the production of RSPO certified sustainable palm oil.
eTrace and GreenPalm will be at the RT12 (shared booths 5 and 6) to give further information and demonstrations on the connection and other features of the systems.

As of 1 January 2017, the RSPO no longer endorses GreenPalm as the service provider for the trade in Book and Claim certificates. From this date, RSPO-certified volumes can be sold via Credits on the RSPO PalmTrace platform.
