The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global, non-profit organisation with voluntary members working to transform the palm oil industry to make it sustainable. We are focused on bringing together stakeholders from across the palm oil supply chain to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.

The Manager, Financial Partnerships (Malaysia, Indonesia & Singapore) play a pivotal role in accelerating the adoption of responsible practices. This dynamic role positions at the forefront of shaping regional financial landscapes, forging strategic alliances, and driving positive change.

The location of this role is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but will not be limited to the following:

Financial Partnerships:

  • Lead the identification, development, and management of impactful partnerships with key financial institutions (FIs) across Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, aligning them with RSPO’s regional strategy.
  • Drive financial support from FIs, empowering RSPO programs and initiatives to thrive.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with FI partners, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Analyse market trends and identify new partnership opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with the government engagement team to develop and implement government engagement strategies in Malaysia and Singapore.
  • Provide subject matter expertise on financial sector issues to inform government engagement activities.
  • Contribute to the development of joint advocacy campaigns and outreach initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyse government policies and regulations impacting RSPO and its members.
  • To assist the Head of APAC Public Policy and Financial Partnership in engaging with the government in fostering strong collaborations and strategic partnerships with key stakeholders.

Collaboration:

  • Foster close collaboration and communication with the government engagement team to ensure synergy and alignment of efforts.
  • Share information and insights regularly to support informed decision-making.
  • Participate in joint meetings and activities with government stakeholders.

General:

      • Develop and manage project budgets and timelines.
      • Collect, analyse, and report on data related to FI partnerships and government engagement activities.
      • Contribute to the development and implementation of RSPO’s regional and global strategies.
      • Represent RSPO at relevant industry events and conferences.
      • Apart from the duties stated above, to perform any duty or duties reasonably assigned.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Education

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, partnership management, or government relations in the financial services and sustainability sector.

Technical and Professional Knowledge

  • Proven track record of building and managing successful partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the financial services industry and the sustainable commodities landscape in APAC.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia/Malay is a plus.
