National Interpretation (NI) of some or all of the Criteria in the international P&Cs that are made in order to develop Indicators and Guidance that are applicable at the national level for the range of countries that palm oil is produced in.
It is the intention of the RSPO that all National Interpretations (NI) should be developed by consensus within a multistakeholder group made up of balanced representation of the membership of the RSPO. However as RSPO is aware that in some cases it might be difficult or impossible to convene has allowed for an alternative approach to National Interpretations (NI) set out in Annex 1a of Certification System (2007) document.
