The Shared Responsibility (SR) requirements are applicable to Ordinary, non-grower RSPO members to achieve RSPO’s vision to transform markets to make sustainable palm oil the norm.

To work on the practical implementation of Shared Responsibility requirements, the Shared Responsibility Working Group (SRWG), has developed the first draft of the Shared Responsibility Verification Manual (attached below) which provides RSPO members information on the verification process, incentives and sanctions related to SR implementation, among others. There are no normative requirements for RSPO members in this document. RSPO Ordinary non-grower members shall refer to this SR Verification Manual to understand the reporting process on their SR performance; i.e. SR reporting on ACOP and MyRSPO profile.

This Verification Manual is also intended to be used by the Certification Bodies (CBs) who will conduct the audits to verify the implementation of the SR requirements by RSPO members, as defined in Annex 1 of the “Shared Responsibility and Implementation” document. The third-party verification is intended for a subset of the members who need to comply with the SR requirements.

The public consultation is now open for comments on the first draft of the Shared Responsibility (SR) Verification Manual. The first round of public consultation will take place from 30 May until 29 July 2022.

We would like to encourage all stakeholders to submit their input before 29 July 2022, 11:59 PM (+8 GMT). You may submit your comments on the survey link below:
