The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) has launched a new app enabling consumers to check the sustainability of the palm oil used in their everyday food products by simply scanning the barcode. Using a methodology developed by RSPO, the ‘RSPO ScanApp’ calculates the progress of a manufacturer's sustainable palm oil usage through a robust algorithm that includes membership of the RSPO and the public submission of Annual Communication on Progress (ACOP) Reports.
This initial pilot is limited to France and is supported by a digital campaign deployed across YouTube, Facebook and Instagram, delivering key facts about sustainable palm oil production under the three pillars of sustainability: People, Planet and Prosperity. Find out more.
