REVIEW AND COMMENT PROCESS FOR THE ROUNDTABLE ON SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL (RSPO) MANUALS ON BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES FOR PEATLAND MANAGEMENT

The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Secretariat is pleased to announce a review and comment process of updating two existing manuals on Best Management Practices (BMPs) for (i) Existing Oil Palm Cultivation on Peat; and (ii) Management and Rehabilitation of Natural Vegetation associated with Oil Palm Cultivation on Peat. Changes and updates through this process will bring the existing manuals in line with the current regulations and policies, committed by government and the private sector. Global Environment Centre (GEC) has been engaged as the facilitator of the review process.

The review and comment process will be from 1 November 2017 to 12 January 2018.

RSPO and GEC seek participation from RSPO members to share the challenges and successes related to implementing these RSPO Manuals, as well as share emerging and innovative BMPs currently being piloted and/or implemented. Click HERE to complete the feedback survey.

The existing RSPO manuals can be viewed electronically and downloaded at:

As part of this process, a workshop will be organised back-to-back with the upcoming 15th Annual Roundtable Conference on Sustainable Palm Oil (RT15) on 27 November 2017, in Bali, Indonesia. The announcement of the workshop is available at the RT15 website and RSPO website.
