The name change has no impact on the functionalities already available in RSPO eTrace, and accounts created in RSPO eTrace will stay valid.
The only major change is that RSPO Credits trade will be added in PalmTrace. As announced by the RSPO in July 2016, the RSPO’s endorsement of GreenPalm ends this month (December 2016).
From January 2017, the Book and Claim supply chain model will be supported by the trade of RSPO Credits in RSPO PalmTrace, as shown below:
This model allows mills, crushers and independent smallholders to easily trade in the market for sustainable oil palm products. Trade of RSPO Credits allows the market to directly support growers who have changed their practices to meet the RSPO Principles and Criteria.
With the launch of RSPO PalmTrace, will there be a change in the volume-based fee that is currently being charged?
Yes, the volume based fee will be reduced. The new reduced fees charged to the first buyer buying from the mill for the physical transactions of IP, and MB will be:
CSPO (Certified Sustainable Palm Oil)
USD 1.45 / MT (currently USD 1.75)
CSPK (Certified Sustainable Palm Kernels)
USD 0.65 / MT (currently USD 0.79)
Fees for the different types of RSPO Credits and the fee that will be charged to the buyer of the credits.
USD 1.45 / RSPO Credit (currently USD 2.00)
CSPKE (Certified Sustainable Palm Kernel Expeller)
CSPKO (Certified Sustainable Palm Kernel Oil)
No fee as this is already levied over CSPK
