National Interpretation Public Consultations 13 December 2019 – 10 February 2020

The RSPO NI document for Gabon of the RSPO Principles and Criteria 2018 (P&C 2018) has been developed by the participatory multi-stakeholder Gabon NI Working Group (NIWG) which includes representation from the relevant sectors. The entire process for the Gabon NI has been following the RSPO SOP for Standard Setting (2017), section on National Interpretations.

This first version of the RSPO Gabon NI 2019/2020 has been drafted through a comprehensive development process including involvement of the three stakeholder sectors in the country, i.e. the private sector, the NGO/CSO sector and the Gabonese government. It accurately reflects the nature of the industry in Gabon, particularly national legislation, and customs in the country whilst maintaining and, in some cases, strengthening the integrity of the RSPO requirements.

We are now inviting you to participate in the public consultation on this draft 1 of the Gabon NI 2019/2020. The draft is available in English and French language (downloadable at the bottom of this page).

Please use the online surveys linked below to provide your input [we urge all French speakers to please use the French survey to reduce translation costs]. Kindly note that only inputs provided via the survey will be accepted.
