On 7 November 2019, the Board of Governors of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) approved the expanded scope of the RSPO Group Membership. The expanded scope will address situations that are beyond the current corporate legal definition of Group Membership in Section 5.0 of the RSPO Membership Rules 2016. The changes will provide a clear guidance for membership application, certification, trademark usage, complaints and other key areas.

Six (6) definitions of Group Membership – corporate group, smallholder group manager, supply chain group manager, group of companies operating under a common brand, cooperatives union, and companies having common individual owner(s). |

Beneficial ownership has been defined and all related entities will be deemed part of a Group for the purpose in relation to compliance with RSPO Statutes, Code of Conduct, and all key documents and procedures of the RSPO. |
