Profile

The church candles were manufactured for more than 60 years under the name HYGGE-LYS. They have been used in churches all over Denmark. Jens Andreas Dahl Hansen designed the molds for a beautiful sculptural and minimalistic candle with ability to stand alone. For the churches the foot was cut of and the candle special fitted for the unique candlestick.

Generation follows generation. 4th generation is now distributing the candles in their original form through shops in Denmark and abroad.

The candles are hand molded and manufactured individually. Some of the molds from when the production started in 1950 are still in use today.

The candles are produced from the purest and most stable 100% plant stearin that is extracted from palm oil. The cotton wicks ensure that the candles burn slowly and steadily and are gentle on the environment and people with allergies. The decoration on calendar candles is hand printed with eco-friendly wax.

In recent years, Jens Andreas' descendants added new ideas including aroma candles. The aroma candles are made ?from 100% plant stearin and pure essential oils.
