Golden Bake Ltd. was established in 1987 with the sole objective of entering the frozen dough and pastry market. The company built a customised frozen dough processing plant at Malahide Road Industrial Park, Coolock, Dublin 17, Ireland. The plant is strategically located off the M50 motorway and close to Dublin port. The company presently employs 46 people. Independent research and development combined with new product development with individual customers over the past decades has placed Golden Bake in an industry leading position. Golden Bake manufacture a wide range of frozen un-baked puff pastry products in various shapes, sizes and finishes for the in- store bakeries, the retail market, and for the meat, poultry and fish plants for their encrouté value added products. 1.     Organisation's Commitments Toward Sustainability

  • How will your organisation promote the RSPO internally and to other stakeholders?
    Commitment to RSPO is declared in our Food Safety and Quality Policy Statement signed by our Managing Director.

    The Food Safety and Quality Policy Statement is communicated to all relevant parties during training and is permanently displayed.

    The Quality Assurance Manager will have the authority and responsibility to implement and maintain adherence to the RSPO’s supply chain system requirements.

    Our Purchasing procedure will be amended to promote the sourcing of ingredients utilizing RSPO palm oil.

    All relevant staff will be trained to ensure they understand their responsibilities

    By converting the Palm Oil in our products to RSPO certified it will make responsibly produced products more readily available to consumers which in turn will help create greater demand and awareness of the RSPO.
  • Where relevant, what processes is the organisation establishing to engage with interested parties, for example to resolve conflict or to use sustainably produced palm oil?
    Our purchasing procedure will be amended to require the sourcing of ingredients with RSPO palm oil.

    In the event of ingredients not containing RSPO palm oil our suppliers will be encouraged to source RSPO palm oil or ingredients containing RSPO palm oil.

    We will only deal with suppliers who have the capability and are committed to complying with our requirements.
  • Where relevant, how will your organisation work towards implementing the RSPO Principles and Criteria or assessing supplier performance against these criteria?
    Supplier performance will be continuously monitored and any necessary corrective actions or improvements will be affected immediately.
    We will assess our suppliers’ performance against the RSPO Principles and Criteria during our annual supplier assessment.

    Up to date supplier RSPO certificates will be maintained on a continuous basis and periodic checks will be carried out to check the validity of the Supply Chain Certification on the RSPO website www.rspo.org
  • Any other information that would support the application such as what your organisation hopes to gain from joining RSPO and how it would support RSPO?
    By joining the RSPO we will be contributing towards the growth and use of sustainable palm oil and the protection of people and the environment.

    We hope that embracing the aspirations of RSPO we will be demonstrating to our clients and potential clients that we are a responsible company.
