We are pleased to announce that the Management of River Riparian in Indonesian Palm Oil Plantation undetermined by government document, based on the RSPO Principles & Criteria (P&C) and RSPO Independent Smallholder (ISH) Standard, was endorsed by the Standard Standing Committee (SSC) on 22 September 2022.

This document aims to provide practical guidance and toolkits for growers and independent smallholders based on the laws and regulations on riparian management in the water courses and rivers that are undetermined by the Indonesian government, according to the Indonesian National Interpretations (NI) of the RSPO P&C 2018 and RSPO ISH Standard 2019 to improve the auditability of riparian management. This is a requirement stipulated in Indicator 7.8.2 (Critical) of  the RSPO P&C 2018 and Indicators 4.7 E, 4.7 MS A and 4.7 MS B of  the RSPO ISH Standard.

The document provides recommendations on the guideline’s general principles  and stages of river and riparian determination and shall be used as a voluntary guide complementing RSPO Best Management Practices (BMP) on Riparian Management.

Additionally, the RSPO Secretariat will be hosting a hybrid webinar on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, dedicated to growers and smallholders. More information about this event will be announced soon.
