Following the acceptance of Resolution 6H (by the GA 12 in November 2015, KL), the RSPO Board of Governors endorsed the formation of an Assurance Task Force to implement Resolution as well as to upgrade/enhance the effectiveness of RSPO’s assurance program. The assurance system covers assessments (HCV, SEIA, GHG), verification (NPP), audits (CB) and oversight (including ASI accreditation).

The Task Force had pledged to report quarterly on progress. In this first Quarterly Progress report, key updates include, but are not limited to:

  • Clear mandatory minimum guidelines on assessment of FPIC in NPP process have been developed by Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) and training for growers and CBs are scheduled to take place in May, 2017
  • The production of the RSPO Integrity Report, prepared by Accreditation Services International (ASI), to assess the performance of a certification body (CB)
  • The HCV Assessor Licensing Scheme (ALS) Progress Report for the RSPO Assurance Task Force, which was shared with the Reference Panel on 21 March 2017 to review.
