The Côte d’Ivoire Local Interpretation (Côte d’Ivoire LI) of the RSPO Independent Smallholder Standard 2019 was endorsed by the RSPO Board of Governors (BoG) on 10 June 2021. The Côte d’Ivoire LI is the global first local interpretation of the RSPO Independent Smallholder Standard 2019, which will be used for Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) certification produced by a group of Independent Smallholders.
The Côte d’Ivoire LI has been developed by the Côte d’Ivoire LI Working Group (CILIWG), with balanced representation from all stakeholder groups. Numerous physical meetings were held prior to finalising the document and in compliance with international best practices. A comprehensive socialisation plan was developed by the CILIWG to help oil palm stakeholders understand and adopt the RSPO Independent Smallholder Standard.
Prior to endorsement by the BoG, the document was reviewed by the RSPO Secretariat and submitted to the RSPO Standards Standing Committee (SSC) for approval. The Côte d’Ivoire LI document is effective immediately and is available for download here. All Certification Bodies and members are required to use this document for all audits conducted after the release of this announcement.
