The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global partnership to make palm oil sustainable. Today, the RSPO is a global, non-profit organisation with over 6,000 voluntary members across 104 countries and territories, representing every link in the supply chain: oil palm producers, palm oil processors and traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental or nature conservation non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and social or developmental NGOs.

The Manager, Organisational Development (OD) is responsible for delivering initiatives that strengthen RSPO’s organisational capability, talent pipeline, and employee experience. This includes overseeing Learning & Development, Employee Engagement, Performance Management, Organisational Structure and the management of RSPO’s Internship Programme.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners, the role ensures that RSPO’s people development strategies are impactful, inclusive, and aligned with organisational goals. The Manager will actively champion RSPO’s core values across all initiatives, building a workplace culture that supports growth and excellence.
The location of this role is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but will not be limited to the following:
Learning & Development (L&D)
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of RSPO’s L&D agenda, from training needs analysis to programme planning, vendor management, execution and impact assessment.
- Introduce creative and relevant learning solutions that enhance skills, leadership capabilities and organisational effectiveness.
- Proactively recommend development opportunities to address emerging skills gaps.
- Monitor and report on learning participation, completion and outcome.
Employee Engagement
- Design and deliver engagement activities that promote collaboration and celebrate diversity within RSPO’s multicultural workforce.
- Lead engagement campaigns, recognition programmes and cultural initiatives that reinforce RSPO’s core values.
- Leverage feedback results to create targeted action plans and collaborate with line managers to enhance employee satisfaction and retention.
Performance Management
- Facilitate the full performance management cycle (KPI-setting, mid-year review, year-end appraisal and promotion), including but not limited to the guideline, time frame, approval and communication.
- Manage the performance management system and closely work with the vendor to ensure its effectiveness and smooth operation.
- Provide support to superiors and employees on effective performance conversations, including interventions for performance improvement where necessary.
External Collaboration
- Responsible for designing and managing strategic OD programmes that foster collaboration with external stakeholders such as universities, non-profit organizations and other institutions. Focus areas include but are not limited to employer branding, and community engagement.
- Develop and manage university partnerships to support internships or other joint education initiatives to support early-career talent development
- Drive CSR initiatives focused on employer branding or volunteering in sustainable-related causes
- Evaluate programme effectiveness and recommend enhancements.
Manpower Planning & Organisational Structure
- Support the Senior Manager in reviewing and analysing organisational structures to ensure alignment with RSPO’s strategic objectives, operational efficiency and workforce capability needs.
- Provide recommendations for restructuring, repurposing or redefining of roles to address evolving organisational requirements.
- Partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure changes are communicated effectively and implemented smoothly, minimising disruption while maintaining organisational cohesion.
- Maintain accurate and updated organisational charts that reflect RSPO’s reporting lines and workforce changes.
Other Duties
- Manage OD initiative implementation with external consultants, including terms of reference (TOR) preparation, procurement and payments.
- Maintain and update reports and trackers for all OD initiatives, providing regular progress updates to the Senior Manager.
- Apart from the duties stated above, to perform any duty or duties reasonably assigned.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Education
- Minimum degree in human resources, psychology or related field
Experience
- 8-10 years of experience in OD, L&D, HRBP or related roles, preferably in a multinational environment
Technical and Professional Knowledge
- Fundamental HR knowledge in learning & development, talent management and employee engagement
- Familiarity with e-learning platforms and practices
- Experience in project management and budgeting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Excel) and Google Workspace platform
Other Special Requirements
- Professional certification will be an added advantage
