The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global partnership to make palm oil sustainable. Today, the RSPO is a global, non-profit organisation with over 6,000 voluntary members across 104 countries and territories, representing every link in the supply chain: oil palm producers, palm oil processors and traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental or nature conservation non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and social or developmental NGOs.

The Head, Finance will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial matters of RSPO including the accounting, audit, budgeting, tax and treasury. This role will also support the Director, Finance and CFO in developing and implementing the financial strategy of RSPO.
The location of this role is Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but will not be limited to the following:
- Overseeing the Finance unit of all RSPO offices ensuring all finances functions are operating effectively and efficiently.
- Review the month-end closing process to ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner, including account reconciliations and the updating of financial schedules, in compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
- Responsible to ensure completeness of group consolidated financial reporting, statutory reporting, audit, tax and other reporting requirements in adherence to financial reporting standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with internal and external auditors during reviews and audits to ensure full cooperation from Finance unit.
- Preparation of financial performance reports and provide regular financial updates and strategic
- Preparation of annual budgets and perform periodic reporting to allow for effective monitoring of budget and for management to perform periodic budget review.
- Preparation of monthly forecast, short-term plan and long-term plan to assist senior leadership in allocation of resources and in determining key priorities.
- Lead cash flows planning including discussion with relevant stakeholders to ensure operating and strategic cash flows requirements are adequately funded.
- Recommend improvements to finance and accounting areas of the RSPO and work closely with stakeholders within RSPO when necessary.
- Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures to ensure that adequate internal controls are in place and of best practice.
- Ensure compliance to tax requirements e.g. income tax, WHT, SST submissions, and transfer pricing requirements are made in a timely manner, for all RSPO offices.
- Liaise with Custodian bank, investment manager and investment monitoring officer on matters relating to investments including review of monthly and quarterly investment performance reports with these parties.
- Any such duties reasonably assigned by the Director, Finance.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Education
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related fields.
- Professional qualification such as certified accountant by recognised accountancy bodies.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of progressive financial management experience, including leadership roles.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, budgeting and risk management
- Experienced in staff development and fostering culture of collaboration and excellence.
Technical and Professional Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Expertise in financial modelling, forecasting and performance
- Good communication skills with the ability to covey complex financial information to non-financial audience.
- High level of integrity and professionals, with strong leadership
- Proficiency in financial management software or ERP and advanced skills in Excel.
