The RSPO Greenhouse Gas Working Group (GHG WG) was endorsed to support the following objectives:
- To revise the methodology (i.e., boundary calculation, emission factor and calculations) for PalmGHG.
- To conduct a comparative study based on existing initiatives in measuring downstream emissions for the palm oil sector that will be used to report operational emissions.
To achieve these objectives and the scope of work (refer to Terms of Reference), the RSPO Secretariat is now calling for members to join the GHG WG, which will be supported by two (2) subgroups:
- Upstream Emissions Subgroup, consisting of:
- 3 substantive and 3 alternate members for Indonesia, Malaysia and RoW Grower
- 1 substantive and 1 alternate member for Environmental NGO
- 1 substantive and 1 alternate member for Social NGO.
- Downstream Emissions Subgroup, consisting of:
- 2 substantive and 2 alternate members for Palm Oil Processor and Traders with refinery
- 2 substantive and 2 alternate members for Consumer Good Manufacturer
- 1 substantive and 1 alternate member for Environmental NGO
- 1 substantive and 1 alternate member for Social NGO.
Stakeholders are requested to kindly email their interest to [email protected] stating their membership representation and the subgroup they would like to join (either subgroup 1 or 2).
