ABOUT

Serikat Petani Kelapa Sawit (SPKS) was founded in 2006 with the vision of creating independent, prosperous, and sustainable palm oil smallholders in plantation management. Until now, there are 58,000 members in 18 districts and 7 provinces in Indonesia. SPKS works include efforts to build farmer institutions so that they can guarantee access to agricultural production facilities, finance, and markets. Encouraging the establishment of fair, transparent, and accountable plantation governance in favor of palm oil smallholders. Encouraging the acceleration of sustainable palm oil through RSPO and ISPO certification. Encouraging crop diversification to support the food security of palm oil smallholders. Expanding women's participation in the palm oil plantation sector. Increase public awareness locally, nationally, and internationally to enlarge support for oil palm smallholders.

SPKS currently assists 58 thousand of palm oil smallholders spread across 18 districts and 7 palm oil-producing provinces in Indonesia, which are the Labuhan Batu Utara Regency, North Sumatra, Rokan Hulu Regency, Riau Kuansing Regency, Riau Tanjabar Regency, Jambi , Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan, Sekadau Regency, West Kalimantan, Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan, Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan, Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, Siak Regency, Riau Regency. Muba, South Sumatra, Kobar Regency, Central Kalimantan. Seruyan Regency, Central Kalimantan, Central Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi, Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi, Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi, Muba Regency, South Sumatra. North Aceh Regency, Aceh. The assistance provided includes land mapping for plantations, Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training, institutional strengthening training, and financial management training for farmers, as well as cooperative assistance to obtain RSPO Certification. There are 20,000 oil palm farmers that we have mapped by name, by address, and by polygon, and there are around 10,000 institutions that have been formed and trained to implement Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and there will be 1,300 farmers in 2023 that will be RSPO Certified, assisted by SPKS. Currently, SPKS is looking for partners to support the initiatives that have been developed in assisting farmers and finding buyers for their RSPO Credit through the PalmTrace platform. This support, indeed will enhance SPKS's work in supporting small farmers in Indonesia and contribute to the welfare of farmers and the environment.
