RS Eco Palm Sdn Bhd

ABOUT

RS Eco Palm's journey began with sustainability certifications. Its principals were actively involved in servicing clients on the ground to create value and impact for all aspects of project delivery. Today, the firm has grown exponentially as an independent sustainability consulting firm dedicated to helping organisations to combine human ingenuity and technology innovation to deliver sustainable solutions.
As a highly experienced ESG consultant, RS Eco Palm utilises our in-house industry experts and regional sustainability executives who are well versed in the local language, culture and regional norms to help organisations stay ahead of the global sustainability requirements.
RS Eco Palm's goal is to transition the global economy to a fundamentally sustainable state. A new economic model is crucial: one that ensures the wellbeing of all people and allows organisations to thrive without violating the safe boundaries of the earth's natural systems. We also know that no change comes easy – which is why our dedicated team offers wholesome solutions for sustainability issues.

RS Eco Palm aims to uplift smallholders in the palm oil sector by initiating the Smallholders Livelihood Project (SLP). The project is focused on upskilling AZ Iman Resources Sdn Bhd, a Fresh Fruit Bunch (FFB) dealer in Johor, Malaysia and its supply base of independent smallholders (ISH), (approximately 500 of them). AZ Iman Resources currently supplies to Sedenak Palm Oil Mill (PO1000000019) owned by Johor Plantations Berhad.

The SLP aims to address the challenges faced by ISH by providing the necessary technical assistance, training and capacity building for small farmer groups. The objective is to support and empower smallholders by implementing the Regenerative Agricultural Practices (RAP) and gearing them towards the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Independent Smallholder (ISH) Standard 2019. This enables smallholders to thrive as profitable and sustainable enterprises while providing sustainable and equitable distribution of benefits along the supply chain through the power of capacity building.

Through the introduction of sustainable practices, smallholders will be better equipped with bargaining powers, have ability to adapt to price shocks and enhance the resilience of their farms in the face of climate change

Partner

1) Excelfixer: Pioneering digitalisation for the smallholders by developing a mobile application / software named Sawit+ for sustainable palm oil management.

2) Industry players: Initiating outreach programmes with Sime Darby and Kulim to engage independent smallholders to obtain RSPO ISH Certification.

How you can support

We are currently working closely with RSPO Certified Independent Smallholders across provinces in Indonesia to provide a subset of trainings to improve their livelihoods while their certification is maintained.

More than 5,860 farmers who have implemented Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) and good governance in their groups are seeking your commitment to buy their RSPO Credits through the PalmTrace platforms. Purchasing RSPO Credits supports smallholders in addressing environmental and social issues.
