On September 25, the Indonesian Supreme Court overturned the acquittal of three Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Members; Wilmar Group, Permata Hijau Group and Musim Mas Group, as part of an ongoing corruption case concerning export permit bribery allegations in 2022.

The RSPO is awaiting the Indonesian Supreme Court’s written judgement to ascertain if any violations of the RSPO Key Documents may have occurred. Accordingly, the RSPO will act within its mandate and jurisdiction to determine the necessary next steps to be undertaken.

The RSPO respects the independence of the Indonesian judiciary and its decision on this matter. The RSPO is unable to provide further comment until the written judgement is made public and relevant facts are officially furnished.
