The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global partnership to make palm oil sustainable. Today, the RSPO is a global, non-profit organisation with over 6,000 voluntary members across 104 countries and territories, representing every link in the supply chain: oil palm producers, palm oil processors and traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks and investors, environmental or nature conservation non-governmental organisations (NGOs), and social or developmental NGOs.

The Manager, Smallholder Programme (Indonesia) will be responsible to develop, manage and execute projects related to smallholders’ development program in Indonesia. Focusing on supporting RSPO’s goal towards increased production of RSPO certified sustainable palm oil keeping line at all times with the objectives of the RSPO Smallholder Strategy.
The location of this role is Jakarta, Indonesia.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but will not be limited to the following:
Smallholder’s Development Programme
- To manage and ensure the implementation of RSPO’s Smallholder Development Programs are in line with the Smallholder Strategy’s goal and This includes planning, budgeting, reporting, monitoring and supervision of staff and external consultants
- Coordinating and facilitating the decision-making process on any issues related to smallholders’ program/activities
- To develop & foster relations with stakeholders involved in the Smallholder’s Development program ensuring that relevant targets are met
- To oversee and link RSPO with other stakeholder initiatives on smallholder development projects/programs, where relevant.
- Establish and set up linking and learning platforms that promote Smallholder exchange of knowledge and information
- To ensure development and maintenance of accessible data/information on RSPO certified smallholders in Indonesia
- Ensure response to members’ inquiries on matters related to smallholders’ issues/matters is handled and responded in a timely manner
Apart from the duties stated above, to perform any duty or duties reasonably assigned.
THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
Education
- Degree in the field of Sociology, Environmental Management or Community Development
Experience
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in managerial level in relevant organisation or company.
- Working experience in palm oil industry is an advantage
Technical and Professional Knowledge
- Smallholder developmental agenda, including but not limited on agronomic, environmental and social, livelihood issues
- Good understanding on RSPO’s Smallholder certification process, farming and supply chains
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and/or projects
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and interact with different stakeholders
- Proficiency in English with good communication skills
- Ability in establishing cooperation and rapport with internal and external parties of different backgrounds and/or nationalities
- Strong strategic and managerial skills
- Conscientious and willing to take responsibility
- High integrity and a good team player
