Solidaridad is an international civil society organisation with over 50 years of experience in developing solutions to make communities more resilient — from our early roots supporting repressed communities in Latin America to our current work fostering more sustainable supply chains. We currently work in over 40 countries, on five continents, through seven independently supervised regional offices.

We envision a world in which the economy works for all: where all we produce, and all we consume, can sustain us while respecting the planet, each other and the generations to come.

Mission:
We enable farmers and workers to earn a living income, shape their own future, and produce in balance with nature by working throughout the whole supply chain to make sustainability the norm.

Solidaridad believes in the power of collaboration and works closely with governments, companies, and local communities to develop and implement solutions that address pressing sustainability challenges. It engages in extensive research and capacity-building initiatives to support sustainable supply chains, reduce environmental degradation, improve working conditions, and enhance livelihoods for producers and workers.

Solidaridad collaborates with various partners, including the Keling Kumang Oil Palm Farmers Alliance, CU Keling Kumang Financial Institution, Sekadau District Government through the Department of Agriculture and Plantations, and the West Kalimantan Provincial Government. In addition, Solidaridad also works with donors from international companies that have an interest in RSPO Certification – especially those involved in the palm oil supply chain and committed to supporting sustainable agricultural practices. In addition to the partners mentioned, Solidaridad collaborates with international companies such as BASF, Henkel, and Estée Lauder. These companies have a vested interest in the palm oil supply chain and are committed to supporting sustainable agricultural practices, particularly in relation to RSPO Certification.

We provide support to smallholders in the form of Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training, assistance, and institutional strengthening to support the sustainability of the palm oil industry. GAP training helps smallholders adopt sustainable agricultural practices, while assistance provides technical guidance and advice. Through institutional strengthening, we collaborate with local organisations to increase their capacity in management and compliance with RSPO Standards. This support aims to increase sustainable smallholder productivity and contribute to environmental conservation and sustainable community development. We are also eager to gain additional support to help as many independent smallholders as possible achieve RSPO Certification,especially on auditing processes by third-party verification to ensure compliance with RSPO Standards. We also appreciate end buyer support to mills receiving supplies from our farmers who already apply Best Management Practices (BMPs) and a traceable location, promoting sustainable practices and responsible sourcing. With collaboration and commitment, we strive for a sustainable palm oil industry that protects the environment and benefits independent smallholders and communities.
