CALL FOR APPLICATION – COMPLAINTS PANEL MEMBERS

The RSPO Secretariat is pleased to announce a call for application from its members to join the RSPO Complaints Panel. 

The RSPO is keen to expand the RSPO Complaints Panel with the aim to strengthen regional and sectoral representation on the Panel. Panel members will be selected with a view to ensuring the independence and impartiality of the members, and ideally must have a sufficiently diverse background, a wide spectrum of experience in the operations and governance of the palm oil industry (technical knowledge in human rights and labour law, biodiversity and climate change are an added advantage), and a firm commitment towards ensuring a constructive resolution of complaints. 

The specific selection criteria will be based on the following: 

1. RSPO membership for a minimum of two years; 
2. Balance of regional and sectoral stakeholders; 
3. Good knowledge of the English language, allowing active participation in the discussions. 

The Complaints Panel’s Terms of Reference can be accessible here. The Complaints Panel has regular online monthly meetings and endeavours to have physical or special online meetings every quarter. 

Members of the Complaints Panel should be prepared to attend meetings and contribute actively in discussions and deliberations of the group. They are also to be involved in preparatory work ahead of meetings, examining and providing input and feedback on documents discussed, and participating in deliberations aiming to deliver decisions as mandated under the Complaints and Appeals Procedure.

2. Motivational letter or Statement of Intent (1 page). 

Shortlisted candidates will be notified and called for an interview with the Selection Committee.
