RSPO Harmonisation Sessions and the Supporting Events

The revised RSPO Principles and Criteria (P&C) and the Independent Smallholder (ISH) Standard were endorsed at the RSPO General Assembly in November 2024. Subsequently, the new RSPO Certification Systems for the RSPO P&C and ISH Standards were endorsed at the RSPO General Assembly in November 2025.

However, Resolution GA22-2d, adopted on 5 November 2025, calls for an extension of the mandatory effective date of the RSPO P&C 2024 Standard by six months, until 31 May 2026, with a review of progress in the fifth month and the possibility of an additional six-month extension if significant delays persist.

To address the resolution, the RSPO Secretariat has scheduled multiple events in different countries to bring Latin American stakeholders up to speed with the revised Standards, the new Certification Systems, and the updated National Interpretation process.

The events will begin with the RSPO Members Forum in February 2026, with the aim of achieving the following objectives:

• Improve the knowledge, understanding, and readiness of Latin American stakeholders to implement and uphold the revised Standards.
  
• Highlight key changes and new requirements from the 2025 Certification Systems that directly impact the certification process, audit delivery, and oversight.
  
• Provide an interactive platform for discussion on standard-related expectations ahead of a detailed webinar series scheduled for the first quarter of 2026.
  

The RSPO Secretariat invites grower members, ISH members, social NGOs, environmental NGOs, accreditation bodies (AB), certification bodies (CB), endorsed training providers (ETP), and industry associations in Latin American countries to explore the events below for further information and details.

The RSPO Secretariat will cover the conferencing costs. Registrants are, however, requested to make the necessary logistical arrangements for their participation.

Sesiones de Armonización de la RSPO en LATAM y eventos de apoyo

Los Principios y Criterios de la RSPO (P&C) y los Estándares para Pequeños Productores Independientes (ISH) fueron aprobados en la Asamblea General de la RSPO en noviembre de 2024. Posteriormente, el documento de Sistemas de Certificación RSPO para Principios y Criterios RSPO y Pequeños Productores Independientes fue aprobado en la Asamblea General de la RSPO en noviembre de 2025.

Sin embargo, la Resolución GA22-2d, adoptada el 5 de noviembre de 2025, interpuesta por miembros de la RSPO establece la prórroga de la fecha obligatoria de entrada en vigor del Estándar RSPO P&C 2024 por seis meses, el cual va hasta el 31 de mayo de 2026, con una revisión del progreso en el quinto mes y la posibilidad de una prórroga adicional de seis meses si persisten retrasos significativos.

Para abordar la resolución, la Secretaría de la RSPO ha programado múltiples eventos en diferentes países para actualizar a los miembros en América Latina con las normas revisadas, el actualizado Sistema de Certificación y el estatus de los procesos de Interpretación Nacional.

Los eventos comenzarán con el Foro de Miembros de la RSPO, que se realizará en febrero de 2026, con el objetivo de lograr los siguientes objetivos:

• Mejorar el conocimiento, la comprensión y la disposición de los miembros en América Latina para implementar los Estándares revisados.
• Destacar los cambios claves y los nuevos requisitos de los Sistemas de Certificación 2025 que gestionan directamente el proceso de certificación, los procesos de auditorías y de control.
• Proporcionar una plataforma interactiva para debatir expectativas relacionadas con los estándares antes de una serie detallada de seminarios web prevista para el primer trimestre de 2026.

La Secretaría de la RSPO invita a miembros productores, extractoras, grupos de Pequeños Productores Independientes, ONG sociales, ONG medioambientales, organismos de acreditación (AB), entidades de certificación (EC) y a organizaciones acreditadas como entrenadores (ETP) en toda América Latina a asistir a los eventos que a continuación se detallan:

La Secretaría de la RSPO cubrirá los costos de estos eventos. Sin embargo, los invitamos primero a que confirmen su registro y asistencia mediante el Formulario Google adjunto puesto que se tienen cupos limitados para los eventos presenciales.
