We are pleased to announce that the PalmGHG V5 Manual is now open for online Public Consultation. This is your opportunity to provide feedback, comments and suggestions on the draft PalmGHG V5 Manual.
The current PalmGHG V4 Manual (Version 4.0), first published in 2021, provides a basic guide for data entry into the PalmGHG V4 Calculator, along with a brief introduction and a set of FAQs tailored for users. However, it offers limited technical detail and is primarily focused on platform navigation.
In response to evolving needs and demand, the PalmGHG V5 Manual has undergone significant enhancements developed in line with the upcoming PalmGHG V5 Calculator, which aligns with the GHG Protocol reporting requirements. The updated manual includes:
- Detailed technical guidance, including scope and boundary, and calculation methodology.
- A new section on PalmGHG V5’s alignment with key international standards.
- An overview of default values and emission factors.
- An updated FAQ section to support users at all levels.
While the Calculator is designed for upstream stakeholders, the Manual has been expanded to serve a broader audience, including downstream stakeholders and anyone interested in understanding the methodology. Together, the updated Calculator and Manual aim to ensure that PalmGHG V5 is a practical, transparent, and reliable tool for tracking and reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The Public Consultation period runs from 24 October to 24 November 2025.
All feedback, comments, and suggestions must be submitted via the global online commenting platform by 24 November 2025.
