The RSPO National Interpretation (NI) draft of the 2024 RSPO Principles and Criteria (P&C) for Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Solomon Islands (SI) has been developed through a participatory, multi-stakeholder process, involving representatives from relevant RSPO membership sectors and consultations with other related stakeholders in Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Solomon Islands (SI). The formation of the National Interpretation Task Force (NITF) for Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Solomon Islands (SI) ensures that all required procedures, communications and actions have been properly documented and recorded. This process aims to ensure that the NI accurately reflects the nature of the oil palm industry in Malaysia, particularly national legislation and local customs, while maintaining and strengthening the integrity of RSPO Certification requirements.

We are now calling for comments on the Papua New Guinea (PNG) and the Solomon Islands (SI) NI 2026 draft through a public consultation period of 60 days, from 3 March to 2 May 2026. The draft is available in English and can be downloaded below.

You are invited to submit your feedback and comments on the draft with the comment template below. All comments must be submitted to the PNG&SI NI TF Secretariat at [email protected] by close of business on 2 May 2026.
