The review of the RSPO Complaints System was successfully completed in December 2014 (https://rspo.org/news-and-events/announcements/a-review-of-complaints-system-of-the-rspo-final-report) and one of the recommendations arising from the review relates to the management of the Complaints System.  In line with the recommendation of the review, particular emphasis is given to recruiting more women and individuals from the Global South, while ensuring that the Complaints Panel group contains a diversity of relevant discipline and competencies.

RSPO calls for additional Complaints Panel members to increase the numbers in each of the five membership category from RSPO member organizations, namely:

  1. Environmental NGO
  2. Social/development NGO
  3. Growers
  4. Processor/Trader, Consumer Goods Manufacturer, Retailer or Banks/Investors
  5. Affiliate Member

Interested RSPO members should have a proven area of expertise in one or more of the above categories. At present, RSPO urgently need members in the Processor/Trader, Consumer Goods Manufacturer, Retailer or Banks/Investors category.

Kindly contact the RSPO Head of Impacts at [email protected] on how you can serve voluntarily in the Complaints Panel. The RSPO has the sole discretion of the right of appointment to the Complaints Panel.
