We are pleased to inform you about two key updates regarding the RSPO Shared Responsibility:
- Updates on Shared Responsibility (SR) uptake target for 2026 and scope expansion
As an annual practice, the RSPO Board of Governors (BoG) has endorsed the SR uptake targets for 2026. The Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO) uptake percentages remain the same as in previous years: 2% for Processors and Traders (P&Ts) and 12% for Consumer Goods Manufacturers (CGMs) and Retailers.
A key change for 2026 is the scope expansion for all ordinary non-grower members. This means any downstream operations must also comply with the respective sector’s uptake target. For example, a P&T member with CGM operations must declare those volumes in the Annual Communication of Progress (ACOP) 2026 and comply with the uptake target for those specific operations.
These percentages represent the increase in certified palm oil products uptake that members (P&Ts, CGMs and Retailers) have to show to comply with the SR uptake requirement. The performance is included in the average score that is shown and updated yearly in the SR Scorecard website.
- Scorecard Publication and MyRSPO Policy Deadline
- The SR Scorecard for 2026 will be published on 31 July 2026 on the SR Scorecard webpage.
- The deadline to update your MyRSPO SR policy section is 30 June 2026.
Important Compliance Notes:
- Category Changes: Members who have changed from Supply Chain Associates (SCA) to Ordinary Membership must comply with SR requirements.
- Sector Changes: If your organisation changes sectors, ensure compliance with the respective CSPO uptake target. (For reference, Year 6/2025 targets were 2% for P&T and 12% for CGM & Retailers).
- Exemption for Traders and Distributors (T&D): Organisations operating only as T&D, as per the RSPO Supply Chain Standard and with an active licence, are exempted from SR requirements. As the Traders and Distributor licences are issued for one year, please ensure that you renew the licence by 30 June 2026 if it is due to expire.
You can upload your SR Policies in MyRSPO as a file or URL using this step-by-step guide (or refer to the guidance documents for each sector). Alternatively, you can click on the Declaration of Support if a specific SR policy has not yet been developed.
Please check your organisation’s MyRSPO profile to update your contact details, organisational profile, and ensure all SR policies are uploaded and current.
If you have any questions, please contact the SR team at [email protected].
Thank you for your kind attention.
