OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

The Training Manager will be responsible to develop and administer training programmes targeted at improving the quality and delivery of Auditors and Assessors, and to coordinate, plan and design member related trainings in order to improve member understanding on specific RSPO requirements. 

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Assurance Director, the Training Manager will be responsible  

  • To oversee the development of training programmes for Certification Bodies, in cooperation with internal and external parties, in order to ensure increased capacity and credibility of RSPO’s certification bodies;
  • To develop and periodically review and update RSPO training materials, determining appropriateness and relevance to all or any changes to the standard and system, ensuring the ROI on the effectiveness of the trainings;
  • Evaluate the performance and methodologies of current instructors whilst providing recommendations for improvement in methods and training approaches;
  • To build partnerships and cooperate with external like-minded stakeholders (i.e.  training institutions, government agencies, universities), to ensure the trainings reflect local realities;
  • To collaborate with the RSPO Assurance & Standard Development teams to assess needs and design training modules for RSPO members to improve understanding of RSPO certification requirements; 
  • To work with the Smallholder unit and assist on improving the RSPO Sustainability College and Smallholder Academy content and delivery; 
  • To look into the logistics & to manage the cost and budgets;

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT 

  • You should have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Science or Environmental Management.
  • 3 to 5 years working experience in designing & developing training / instructional curriculum. 

TECHNICAL & PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE

  • Track records in designing and executing successful training programmes
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (monitoring, coaching etc)
  • Ability to plan, multi task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing, proof reading skills and speaking. 
  • Excellent organization skills and experience with project management.
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and work assignments from a variety of divisions. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both in person and by phone with high professionalism. 
  • Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision. 
  • Fantastic customer service ethics and high expectations for quality. 
  • Ability to lead others by influence and develop strong relationships across the organization
