The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global, non-profit organisation with voluntary members working to transform the palm oil industry to make it sustainable. We are focused on bringing together stakeholders from across the palm oil supply chain to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.

Supporting the Senior Manager (SM) of Strategy in formulating strategic objectives and enhancing performance efficacy within the organisation. The role involves close collaboration with executive leadership, cross-functional teams, and stakeholders to devise and implement strategic initiatives, establish performance metrics, and facilitate effective performance planning and reporting processes. Key responsibilities encompass strategic planning, performance management, data analysis, and generating actionable insights to foster organisational growth and success. The incumbent will provide guidance, coordination, and administrative support to relevant Standing Committees, Working Groups, and Task Forces that contribute to strategy formulation and digital transformation efforts.

The location of this role is Malaysia and is a fixed term of 2 years contract.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but will not be limited to the following:

Strategic Planning and Execution:

  • Assist in strategic planning and goal setting in collaboration with the leadership team.
  • Support market research, industry analysis, and competitive benchmarking tasks to identify opportunities and potential threats.
  • Participate in formulating strategic initiatives and ensure they are aligned with overall organizational goals.
  • Help develop strategic frameworks and business cases for potential initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate strategic plans into actionable tasks and initiatives.

Performance Management and Measurement:

  • Assist in proposing performance metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and targets to monitor the organizational performance.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of performance management systems and processes.
  • Work with stakeholders to define performance goals and align them across departments.
  • Participate in regular performance reviews and analysis to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support teams in setting and achieving performance targets.

Performance Planning and Reporting:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of performance planning and reporting processes.
  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of performance data to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Prepare and contribute to the presentation of performance reports to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Help identify performance trends and suggest areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the availability and integrity of performance data in collaboration with relevant teams.

Process Improvements:

  • Assist in analyzing performance data to identify trends and areas for optimization.
  • Support deep-dive analyses and provide input to generate actionable insights.
  • Provide suggestions to address performance gaps and facilitate continuous improvement.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and provide relevant analysis and reporting.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and emerging tools in performance management and measurement.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Engage with stakeholders across the organization to gather input and align objectives.
  • Help in building and maintaining relationships with cross-functional teams to facilitate collaboration.
  • Communicate performance results, insights, and recommendations to the leadership and stakeholders as needed.
  • Facilitate and participate in meetings and workshops to review performance data, discuss findings, and promote actionable steps.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT

Education

  • Degree qualified, preferably with a Masters/MBA and with appropriate professional qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 6 years working experience in finance / accounting / corporate planning / strategic management / performance management and monitoring.
  • Big 4 consulting experience preferred.

Technical and Professional Knowledge

  • Proven experience in strategy development, performance management, or related roles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading and executing strategic initiatives.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Knowledge of performance management frameworks, methodologies, and best practices. Familiarity with relevant industries and markets, including emerging trends and competitive landscapes.

Other Special Requirements

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI would be advantageous.
