The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a not-for-profit, international membership organisation that is working to transform markets to make sustainable palm oil the norm. To do this, we have united stakeholders from all sectors of the palm oil supply chain and civil society to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil production and procurement.

Since its inception in 2004, RSPO has enjoyed rapid growth and today has over 5,200 members from 102 countries, including oil palm producers, processors, traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks, and non-governmental organisations. Thanks to the commitments and actions of these members, nearly 20% of the global supply of palm oil has already been certified as sustainable.

The Executive, Risk will be responsible for assisting the Risk Unit in maintaining the RSPO risk registry, contributing to the monitoring and evaluation of all risks to the RSPO Assurance System, as well as supporting the investigation tasks under the Risk Unit. 

The location of this role is Malaysia.


Duties include but will not be limited to the following:

  • Working closely with the different sub-teams within the Risk Unit, to ensure that the risk register is continuously updated as per the internal SOP;
  • Assist the Risk Management & Monitoring desk to conduct analysis on organisational risks as and when required;
  • Provide support to review of Risk Management activities, this includes Risk Assessment and Risk Treatment;
  • Establish communication with the respective risk owner and involved external parties (if any);
  • Send timely reminders and follow up with members on submission of relevant supporting documents pertaining to risk evaluation and/or investigation reports;
  • Assist the Investigation desk to collect and compile information related to ongoing investigations, including initial diagnosis of cases;
  • Assist the Head of the Risk Unit to ensure that the Risk Unit Webpage is updated on a monthly basis, in collaboration with the comms team;
  • Assist the Risk Unit team to raise, submit and follow up on all procurements relevant to the Unit.

Apart from the duties stated above, the role is required to perform any duty or duties reasonably assigned.



  • University degree in management, law, sociology, environmental science, and other related fields.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of working experience in the relevant industry, preferably Plantation.

Technical & Professional Knowledge:

  • Proficiency in ISO 31000 Risk Management and other internationally recognised risk would be advantageous;
  • Working knowledge of environmental and/or social issues;
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines;
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint);
  • High proficiency in English, both verbal and written.
