The RSPO Principles and Criteria (P&C) 2018 has a new criterion (7.7) on ‘no new planting on peat, regardless of depth after 15 November 2018 and all peatlands are managed responsibly’. It was also decided that a consultant with extensive experience working with smallholders will be engaged, with oversight and input from the 2nd Peatland Working Group (PLWG-2) to ensure applicability of the manuals in line with the upcoming RSPO Smallholders Academy.
