In 2020, the RSPO designed a new operational strategy to accelerate delivery of the seven key strategies of the RSPO Theory of Change (ToC). One of the seven key strategies identified in the ToC was the Engagement of the Supporting Sector. As part of this new operational plan, “Engagement of the Supporting Sector” has been highlighted as an urgent and over-looked priority.

Hence, on 25 February 2021, the RSPO Board of Governors endorsed the Road to COP26 Taskforce. The objective of this taskforce is to position RSPO as a solution-provider and thought leader in the development and delivery of green trade deals and international agreements for sustainable palm oil, and to accelerate demand for RSPO certification across the global supply chain.

The Taskforce will provide strategic guidance and advice to the RSPO Secretariat in the development and execution of a twelve-month outreach campaign, and to provide access to high level spokespeople and C-Suite leaders in the context of COP26 and other key events between January and December 2021.
